Global Custom Integrations has won the 2011 Electric House magazine Home of the Year Award, which recognizes the most innovative home automation designs in the industry. Hosted by Electric House Magazine, the Home of the Year Contest encourages automation professionals to create unique, accessible spaces that push the current boundaries of the industry. A popular contest with engineers in the field, the Home of the Year Award is highly regarded and reflects the value of the work that GC Integrations has achieved.  

The editorial staff at Electric House judged the many entries based upon their creativity with regard to challenges, their innovative use of technology, and the design elements that were incorporated into the houses. Each entry offered a different perspective; a unique interpretation of the potential that home automation possesses to enhance the experience of homeowners. Awards were given for many categories, including best media room, dedicated home theater, themed theater, master suite, kitchen, and outdoor space, as well as Home of the Year.

The designs that are entered into the contest are, according to Electric House Editor Lisa Montgomery, who commented on the Electric House website, “the crème de la crème of intelligent living spaces. They demonstrate perfectly the unique benefits consumers can enjoy by integrating sophisticated electronic systems into their homes.
